Solo Routines
Solo Routines Its hard to get the motivation to get on the court by yourself & practice, but this is definitely one of the best ways to get ultimate control of the ball. Give yourself achievable goals & you will find that the sessions become more enjoyable & satisfying. Drives To get a good feel for your drive & to work on your control over the length, continuously hit 3 good shots to the back of the court, then play a short straight shot, drive or lob across the court to then work down the other side. Aim to keep this going for at least 5 full rounds of fore & back hand. Volley Stand a metre or so from the front wall & volley the ball continuously forehand or backhand start with a target of 20 shots each side & work up to 100! Repeat this from the mid court line & then again from the back of the court. This will really help sharpen your reaction time. Boast Play 2 or more straight drives to the back of the court, boast, then drive 2 shots down the other side etc. You can change this by making the 2nd drive a volley for a little variety. If you work on these routines regularly, your game should improve heaps & so should your court fitness, especially with the drive & boast routines if you manage to get them going continuously!
