Games variation
Games variation To add variety to your regular game or to improve an aspect of your game (when you know you could do with concentrating on your backhand or length etc.) you might want to try “conditioned games”. A conditioned game is anything that restricts what shots you can play on the court. Some types of conditioned games you might want to try are: Backhand only (width of service box, or closer to the wall) Forehand only Length only, where all balls must bounce behind the short line (the one going across the court) Length only, but you can only play cross court with a volley In each rally, each player is only allowed to play one short shot – so use it wisely!!! You can make these games even more challenging for one or both players by restricting the shots either one or both of you can play, e.g. only one player is allowed to play short in the down the wall game. Try a game when one player is allowed to play length only, while the other player can play anything. (This type of game can even up the game if players are of different abilities too.) Score these games like a regular game to keep that winning desire. These types of games are just as physically demanding as your regular game, and should not only add variety to your games, but improve aspects of them as well. Happy squashing Kay
