Good Footwear is Vital

Good Footwear is Vital In my experience squash players are very bad at spending money on decent shoes, or holding on to shoes for too long, long after they have past their “best before” date. A good pair of shoes will pay big dividends in your court movement, injury prevention, and support from wear and tear on your joints. If you play 2-3 times a week, I suggest that a pair of good shoes will be pretty well worn out after a season. It isn’t the tread on the bottom, or the condition of the uppers so much, it is the cushioning that will have flattened out, and this is vital for you. Once this is gone, you will not get what you need out of a pair of shoes playing a game with so much pounding around. If you play a lot, two pairs are a good idea, so that you wear them down at the same rate. You can also dry out one pair in the hot water cupboard if necessary, and you have the other pair to keep going in. During tournaments this is very useful. As luck would have it, we have a great range of shoes available at Club Kelburn, so we will see you soon! Rob
