Playing For A team
Playing For A team This weekend is a biggie for squash players with the district Graded Eliminations happening all over the country. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your matches, or for any team matches. 1- Find out the order of play early, and make sure you eat with plenty of time until you have to play. 2- Have a really good warm up before you get on, so that when you get on the court you are ready to go, not feeling stiff. 3- If the matches are poised and it is all up to you to bring home the bacon, just remember to play one point at a time, one shot at a time. Don’t get too worked up, otherwise you will lose all your energy in the first half of the match. Try and keep a clear mind and still try to enjoy yourself. Too much hype will only make you play worse. 4- Have a look at your opposition over the weekend, and look for areas that they are weak in, and play to this. 5- Stretch after you play to help get ready for your next game. Especially your glutes!
