Stretching.
Stretching. For years I stretched before I played with static stretches. The belief now by the experts is that this does no good, and in fact may weaken a muscle prior to exercise. What is advised now is warming up exercises and dynamic stretching, with movements replicating court movement. I always have the hit up , then do boasts and drives for a few minutes, with a few lunges into the corners. The time to stretch is after you have played, to decrease stiffness, and to increase flexibility. Squash is so much about court movement, and yet none of us stretch enough. Stretch in front of the telly, or any time you feel like it, but try not to before you play, or if you must, make sure that you have really got the blood pumping first.
